Retail stores, warehouses, restaurants, online stores, etc. use scanners extensively in their day to day operations. Our online business would be much more difficult without the ability to quickly scan a barcode rather than manually typing in a SKU. Scanners also allows us to make entering frequently used text much quicker. At our workstations there is a poster of frequently used terms converted and displayed as a barcode. Rather than typing the same word or command over and over again we simply scan the barcode and it immediately displays on the screen without any typing. So easy! It is a wired scanner, so it needs to be connected to a computer. Once you get it set up, it's easy to use and works well.I deducted one star because the set-up is not very intuitive and is more difficult than it needs to be. But I eventually figured it out. You just have to scan the appropriate barcode and there are no clear instructions regarding this.
