| 52 of 53 people found the following review helpful  Really needs to be seperate reviews for the different types of scanners offered above, Verified Purchase This review is from: Socket Mobile, Inc. CHS CX2874-1413 Receipt Barcode Scanner (Office Product) The CHS 7mi and CHS 7pi are faster scanners, they have the class 2 lasers that scan in the sun, dark, tight barcodes, ect..... The 7ci is a image scanner, therefore slower and doesn't read ISBN codes very well. When you are looking at the tech, the both say 1D, but the 7Ci does NOT have the class 2 laser. When you are scanning very large inventory and want a fast pace, the mi or pi will handle it fast and efficient, the 7ci will not, it will be slower and will slow you down. Also, The difference between the mi and pi models is the rugged feature, the pi is better protected against drops compared to the mi, but they scan the same rate and are basically the same, but without the added protection. The 7Ci is still a good scanner for smaller things, don't get me wrong and it really depends on what you need this for, but for UPCS or ISBNs, go with the mi or pi models. Really hope this helps when looking at what to buy! While it was a little confusing getting it set up the first time (you have to scan the correct barcode to get it programmed for iOS before connecting the device), I can't say enough how much our team likes using these. They're light, the batteries last all day, the provided retractable lanyards are very convenient, and the whole system makes the user experience pleasant and fast. CHS CX2874-1413 Receipt Barcode Scanner (Office Product) On the recommendation of "Amazon Customer on January 5, 2014", we bought the 7Pi version. It scans quite quickly and fairly reliably. A lot of our products are very small, so we are using price tags that are 2/3x1-3/4" (Avery Template 5195) with Code128 bar codes laser printed on them, so they are fairly small bar codes. The 7Pi seems to have no trouble reading them and does so quite reliably. It syncs with an iPad Air quickly and works well as a "keyboard" input. No complaints. |
